Since launching the magnIQ© system in 2006 the response has been quite phenomenal. To date the system has won 11 prestigous awards and is now internationally recognised justifying the many years Rare Basic spent on research and development.
The recent collaboration with idX has put magniq in a global position on the market place and is an incredibly exciting development.
Embraced by many of Europe’s major retailers it is fast becoming the obvious choice for in store design and layout. However, with magniq’s limitless applications the system has recently been installed into banks and a university demonstrating the versatility and practicality of magniq.
magnIQ© is based on metal panels available in a range of finishes which can be painted, covered with graphics, fabric or wallpaper. Components are bonded with specially configured high powered weight-bearing magnets which explain the incredible load bearing capabilities of the separate components.
Since last year vast amounts of new components have been developed and the range now includes multi-use fixtures with applications for almost every commercial, retail and domestic market sector; from hotels and offices, to art galleries and museums. Constantly developing the magnIQ© system, the brains behind Rare Basic have added several new elements including double-sided metal panels mounted on wheels, new weight bearing shelf designs, tiling systems and shopfits.
Combining physics, engineering and nature’s force, load-bearings are quite extraordinary with some shelves holding 25 kilo (50lbs) to a shop fit supporting in excess of 75 kilo (150lbs).
Components can be re-arranged or changed instantly and infinitely without drills, screws or hammers leaving no damage to the wall surface. You can move or add pictures and shelves around at will, change your mind and re-position.
MagnIQ Survey
A new survey from visual merchandisers Rare Basic shows that retailers could run 25% more promotions and display changes if units could be re-merchandised quickly, effectively and with minimum graphics cost. The good news is: their prayers can now be answered.
Anti-bacterial coating
The extensive research that has gone into the new antibacterial coating for magnIQ has enabled it to extend its client base further, into the medical, catering and hospitality sectors of the trade world.
Reducing the risk of cross-contamination with anti-bacterial coating
Every surface in the working environment is a potential breeding ground for bacteria. The sanitized coating gives it a permanent barrier against bacteria found in everyday life. The coating prevents invisible organisms from multiplying thus spreading disease and illness. The coating is ideal where germ free environments are vital.

The coating used is in the form of a powder coat- either epoxy polyester, depending on your own application. Silver ions have been added during its manufacture and once the powder has been applied to the equipment, a permanent barrier exists.
Because the silver ions are now impregnated into the coating, should one of the listed bacterias come into contact with the coating, an ionic action takes place. The silver ions puncture the cell wall; therefore inhibiting growth and bacteria dies.
If the bacteria cannot grow it cannot survive.
The process is simple but effective in the fight against infection. Our sanitised protective barrier effectively controls the growth of the following bacteria.
